Acro Company

Audition Requirements

  • Company Members must audition EACH SEASON for placement, which is not guaranteed. 

  • Prepaid Audition Fee of $10/Company with Cash, Check or Charge. Pay-as-You-Go Audition Fee is $18/Company CASH ONLY. 

  • Must be able to do basic Acro (front limber, back limber, front walkover, back walkover, one-handed cartwheel, round off, etc) 

  • Students will be asked to demonstrate dierent Acro skills across the oor one at a time. 

  • Rising High School Seniors who are NOT CURRENTLY RISPA COMPANY MEMBERS may require an additional audition/approval. 

  • We are looking for hard-working, dedicated, and passionate students for our Company. Don’t forget to have fun!

Training & Class Requirements

  • 1-week Summer Intensive Workshop: June 3-7 OR July 15-19... Times for the workshops are the same for both weeks. (see below)  (Elementary School: M-Th 9:00-12:30/ F 9:00-10:30; Middle School: M-Th 1:00-4:30/ F 11:30-1:00; High School: M-Th 5:00-8:30/ F 2:00-3:30) 

  • 1-hour Acro Company choreography class per week during season (August-May) 

  • 1-hour Ballet Technique class per week (If in Ballet Company, you will take a Pointe Class or 2nd Ballet ES Class instead of the Ballet Technique class.) 

  • Students may be required to take an additional 1-hour technique class such as Turns & Leaps Tech per week 

  • IN TOTAL: Acro Company is a 2-hour minimum weekly commitment. Technique classes will be assigned.

Class Attire Requirements

GIRLS:

  • Solid-colored leotard  

  • Black high-waisted leggings (Purchase through RISPA)  

  • Black dance shorts  

  • Black RISPA Company Jacket & Company T-shirt (Purchase through RISPA only)  

  • RISPA Company duel bag (optional)  

  • Long hair must be pulled back out of face in tight ponytail  

  • NO LOOSE-FITTING CLOTHING OR JEWELRY 

BOYS: 

  • Black Fitted T-shirt  

  • Black basketball shorts with black leggings/tights underneath or black sweatpants  

  • Black RISPA Company Jacket & Company T-shirt (Purchase through RISPA only)  

  • RISPA Company duffel bag (optional)  

  • Long hair must be pulled back out of face

Performance Attire Requirements

GIRLS:  

  • RISPA bling earrings (Purchase at Dance Fashions)  

  • Tan footless Eurotard tights  

  • Nudie (a nude-colored cami-style leotard) 

BOYS:  

  • Black Fitted spandex shorts  

  • Black tank top

ALL:  

  • Nails must be a natural color for performances.  

  • Hair, weaves and extensions must be a natural color as well.  Highlights are acceptable, but please no extreme colors,  (i.e. orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, et

Performance Commitment

  • Company Winter Spectacular Show in January (4-6 performances) 

  • Access Broadway Competition (between late Feb./early March) 

  • Company Spring Showcase in May (4-6 performances) 

  • There will be other opportunities to perform during the year, but these will not be mandatory
