Ballet Company

Audition Requirements

  • Company Members must audition EACH SEASON for placement, which is not guaranteed. 

  • Prepaid Audition Fee of $10/Company with Cash, Check or Charge. Pay-as-You-Go Audition Fee is $18/Company CASH ONLY. 

  • Dancers must have knowledge of basic Ballet Technique. Audition will consist of basic barre and a short combination will be taught. 

  • Rising High School Seniors who are NOT CURRENTLY RISPA COMPANY MEMBERS may require an additional audition/approval. 

  • We are looking for hard-working, dedicated, and passionate students for our Company. Don’t forget to have fun!

Training & Class Requirements

  • 1-week Summer Intensive Workshop: June 3-7 OR July 15-19... Times for the workshops are the same for both weeks. (See below.)  

    • (Elementary School M-Th 9:00-12:30/ F 9:00-10:30; Middle School M-Th 1:00-4:30/ F 11:30-1:00; High School M-Th 5:00-8:30/ F 2:00-3:30) 

  • BALLET Level 1 & 2 ES (Elementary School Age Students): 

  • 1-hour Ballet Company class twice per week during season (August-May) 

  • IN TOTAL: Ballet Lv1 & Lv2 ES Company is a 2-hour weekly commitment.

Class Attire Requirements

GIRLS: 

  • Black leotard (feel free to wear the cami leotard bought for Performances to class), pink canvas ballet shoes,  theatrical pink Eurotard tights (unseamed for elementary; seamed for middle/high school)  

  • Black ballet skirt (optional for middle & high school ONLY...no skirts for elementary students)  

  • Ballet/dance belt in any color (to assist with dance alignment)  

  • Black RISPA Company Jacket & Company T-shirt (Purchase through RISPA only)  

  • RISPA Company duffel bag (optional)  

  • Hair in a low classical bun (with hair net & pinned) 

BOYS: 

  • Black tightly-fitting T-shirt, Black canvas ballet shoes, Boys black ballet tights, ballet belt  

  • Black RISPA Company Jacket & Company T-shirt (Purchase through RISPA only)  

  • RISPA Company duffel bag (opt

Performance Attire Requirements

GIRLS: 

  • RISPA bling earrings (Purchase at Dance Fashions)  

  • Eurotard theatrical pink ballet tights (unseamed for elementary; seamed for middle/high school) 

  • Black Camisole Leotard  

  • Nudie (a nude-colored cami-style leotard)  

  • 12-19-year-olds: false eyelashes 

BOYS: 

  • Black ballet tights (for boys), white T-shirt

ALL:

  • Nails must be a natural color for performances. 

  • Hair, weaves & extensions must also be a natural color.  Highlights are acceptable, but please no extreme colors  (i.e. green, blue, purple, pink etc)

Performance Commitment

  • Ballet Company Show for the Winter Season in December (2-4 performances) 

  • Access Broadway Competition (between late Feb./early March)

  • Company Spring Showcase in May (4-6 performances)

  • There will be other opportunities to perform during the year, but these will not be mandatory
