Musical Theatre Company

Audition Requirements

  • Company Members must audition EACH SEASON for placement, which is not guaranteed. 

  • Prepaid Audition Fee of $10/Company with Cash, Check or Charge. Pay-as-You-Go Audition Fee is $18/Company CASH ONLY. 

  • A short combination will be taught. 

  • Dancers must have awareness of music & rhythm, be exible and have basic dance technique. 

  • Rising High School Seniors who are NOT CURRENTLY RISPA COMPANY MEMBERS may require an additional audition/approval. 

  • We are looking for hard-working, dedicated, and passionate students for our Company. Don’t forget to have fun!

Training & Class Requirements

  • 1-week Summer Intensive Workshop: June 3-7 OR July 15-19... Times for the workshops are the same for both weeks. (See below.)  (Elementary M-Th 9:00-12:30/ F 9:00-10:30; Middle School M-Th 1:00-4:30/ F 11:30-1:00; High School M-Th 5:00-8:30/ F 2:00-3:30) 

  • 1-hour Musical Theatre Company choreography class per week during season (August-May) 

  • 1-hour Jazz Technique class per week 

  • IN TOTAL: Musical Theatre Company is a 2-hour weekly commitment. Technique classes will be assigned.

Class Attire Requirements

GIRLS: 

  • Solid-colored leotard, any color/style  

  • BLOCH tan character shoes (NOT for Mini OR Elementary Level Musical Theatre Students)  

  • BLOCH split-sole slip-on jazz shoes in TAN for all MT Students...(black shoes may also be required later for performances.)  

  • Black high-waisted leggings (Purchase from RISPA)  

  • Appropriately-fitting black dance shorts  

  • Black RISPA Company Jacket & Company T-shirt (Purchase through RISPA only)  

  • RISPA Company duffel bag (optional) 

  • Hair must be pulled back out of face 

BOYS: 

  • Black tight-fitting T-shirt AND black fitted A-shirt  

  • BLOCH split-sole slip-on black jazz shoes  

  • Black shorts or black jazz pants  

  • Black RISPA Company Jacket & Company T-shirt (Purchase through RISPA only)  

  • RISPA Company duffel bag (optional

Performance Attire Requirements

GIRLS: 

  • RISPA bling earrings (Purchase at Dance Fashions)  

  • Eurotard tan tights (in suntan or the appropriate color to match skin tone)  

  • Nudie (a nude-colored cami-style leotard)  

  • 12-19 year-olds: false eyelashes & Eurotard professional seamless shnet tights (Instructor will advise which color) 

BOYS: 

  • Black button-down dress shirt, Black dress pants, Black belt 

ALL: 

  • Nails must be a natural color for performances. Hair, weaves and extensions must be a natural color as well.  Highlights are acceptable, but please no extreme colors (i.e. g

Performance Commitment

  • Company Winter Spectacular Show in January (4-6 performances) 

  • Access Broadway Competition (between late Feb./early March) 

  • Spring Showcase in May (4-6 performances) 

  • There will be other opportunities to perform during the year, but these will not be mandatory.
