Voice Company

Audition Requirements

  • Company Members must audition EACH SEASON for placement, which is not guaranteed. 

  • Prepaid Audition Fee of $10/Company with Cash, Check or Charge. Pay-as-You-Go Audition Fee is $18/Company CASH ONLY. 

  • A short combination will be taught. 

  • Dancers must have awareness of music & rhythm, be exible and have basic dance technique. 

  • Rising High School Seniors who are NOT CURRENTLY RISPA COMPANY MEMBERS may require an additional audition/approval. 

  • We are looking for hard-working, dedicated, and passionate students for our Company. Don’t forget to have fun!

Training & Class Requirements

  • 1-week Summer Intensive Workshop: June 3-7 OR July 15-19... Times for the workshops are the same for both weeks. 

  • (Elementary M-Th 9:00-12:30/ F 9:00-10:30; Middle School M-Th 1:00-4:30/ F 11:30-1:00; High School M-Th 5:00-8:30/ F 2:00-3:30) 

  • 1-hour Voice Company class per week during season (August-May) 

  • 1-hour dance technique class per week. 

  • IN TOTAL: Voice Company is a 2-hour weekly commitment.

Class Attire Requirements

  • White binder with lined paper & pencil 

  • Comfortable street clothes (must be able to move around, no dresses or skirts) 

  • Comfortable shoes (no heels, “crocs,” or flip flops) 

  • Black RISPA Company Jacket & Company T-shirt (Purchase through RISPA only) 

  • RISPA Company duel bag (optional) 

  • Long hair must be pulled back (pony tail or with headband)

Performance Attire Requirements

GIRLS: 

  • RISPA bling earrings (purchase at Dance Fashions)  

  • Solid Black Cocktail Dress (to the knee) or nice black outfit  

  • Tan character shoes and Eurotard unseamed tan tights  

  • 12-19 year-olds: false eyelashes 

BOYS: 

  • Black button-down dress shirt and White button-down dress shirt  

  • Black dress pants  

  • Black belt  

  • Black dress shoes and black socks 

ALL: 

  • Nails must be a natural color for performances. Hair, weaves and extensions must be a natural color as well.  Highlights are acceptable, but please no ext

Performance Commitment

  • Voice Company Show for the Winter Season in December (2-4 performances) 

  • Access Broadway Competition (between late Feb./early March; 2 group performances... 1-class & 1-production performance) 

  • Spring Showcase in May (4-6 performances) 

  • There will be other opportunities to perform during the year, but these will not be mandatory
