Mr. David is on the cutting edge of current Ballet instruction, marrying new teaching concepts with traditional Ballet techniques. He is an Atlanta-based choreographer, teacher, and film director who is a well-known and influential artist and educator to the dance community worldwide.
Considered a 'unique renegade artist', David's work can be seen across all mediums, including stage, screen, television, and streaming.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, David's formal training started at the age of 15 through a series of serendipitous events that landed him at the Ailey School for his first summer of dance. Mr. Norwood then earned his degree in Musical Theatre Dance from USIU in San Diego California. Back in LA, he set out to train with the best in the entertainment business and also study art which would inevitably lead him to choreography and teaching.
His first break as a choreographer was creating an opening act in Vegas. Then choreographing and co-directing a Broadway show: Odyssey in Illusion then a ABC movie of the week starring Nicolette Sheridan.
When David moved to Atlanta, he worked with Atlanta Ballet as a teacher/choreographer. This is when he took the leap into creating new works in a commercial/contemporary vein. Mr. David has also taught with North Atlanta Ballet and Dance 101 just to name a few. He is currently the Artistic Director of BL3ND dance theater, CEO of his own production company NYH Media and proud Father of three beautiful children.
Mr. David has performed with the California Ballet in San Deigo, and also on Broadway and at other New York venues in Pirates of Penzance, Carousel, Lil Abner, and West Side Story just to name a few.
He went on to work commercially for Pepsi, The Mickey Mouse Club, Circus of the Stars and travel internationally to Japan and all of Europe as well. Additional commercial credits include Access Hollywood, Regis & Kathy Lee Show, Disney Channel and Superbowl XXX.
Mr. David has also worked with such brands as Nike, Reebok, Apple, Banana Republic, and Disney, not to mention also working with iconic artists such as Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, The Talking Heads, and Shanice.
